The UKFEchat National Conference 2016

Sat 22nd Oct . BSix College, Hackney, London. Tickets £20

Share the good stuff during a fabulous day with like-minded FE and skills people, that will leave you feeling massively motivated, with big ideas to consider and loads of practical tools to take back to your classroom, office, workshop, salon or studio.

Who's this conference for?

In every teaching and learning environment, big and small, there are practitioners, managers and leaders whose excellent reputation precedes them. They are local heroes. If you aspire to be brilliant at your job, then you too are a local hero and we want to celebrate you!

Lecturers, assessors, trainers, tutors, managers, principals, support professionals, academics, policy makers... There is a massive range of sessions to suit the interests of anyone who works in every area of colleges, work-based learning, adult and community education.

What happens on the day?

There are over 40 sessions throughout the day so you can tailor your conference, choosing the topics that fit your interests and specialisms best. You don't have to book any of them in advance, your ticket gives you access to all of them.

Whether you want to bring something to present and get stuck in to real life UKFEchats,  attend sessions and workshops, or meet friends new and old, you will be welcomed with open arms into the UKFEchat community.

Last year's conference, our first one,  was a huge success. We asked how we could make it even better. The only note we got was that we packed too much into the day and didn't give you enough time to get together. So this year, while there are mountains of content there are also breaks aplenty, giving you loads of time to gather your thoughts and your UKFEchat pals! The college canteen will be open for you to buy refreshments and lunch.

How come it's only £20?

It's really important to us to keep our ticket prices as low as possible - £20 a ticket is a fraction of the ticket price of almost all other conferences.  We are a non profit group and feel it's our responsibility to remove barriers to people getting involved with our community, in order to expand everyone's support network of FE mates, and to give the best CPD around.

We can only do this because not one of the speakers, or our UKFEchat conference management pals are paid a penny, not even bus fare home. In addition this years's host venue BSiX College has made life easy for us and enabled us to create a day to remember. Plus our partners at Edge FoundationThe Education and Training Foundation,  ATL, and the TES have given us wonderful support to make our ambitions a reality.

Speakers, event management, host venue and sponsors, all of their wonderful generosity supports our community to thrive. We love 'em and we can't thank them enough.
