Vickie Cannam teaches English at a further education college in South West England. After initially training as an early years teacher in Bristol, she re-qualified to teach in FE in 2014 and began a Masters in Education with the University of Gloucestershire.
Her research, which has been endorsed by Colour Blind Awareness, concerns how students with this under-recognised and little understood disability are supported in FE institutions. As a ''colour-normal' champion for colour-blind people', she strongly believes that all educators should be trained to understand colour blindness and its prevalence. Her session will introduce you to some simple practical strategies to help you to support students with the condition in any subject to achieve their full potential."
