I am a Lecturer/ Teacher Trainer/ Digital Learning Ambassador/ Blended Learning Manager in charge of a cross-college team that supports and trains all staff in using educational technology, social media, industry connections, and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
In 2014 I was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for innovative use of Social Media and application of Educational Technology and have received praise and recognition for my work developing new approaches to teaching and learning in the online community (all resources are available for others to adapt and use for free).
The techniques and style of teaching and assessing I have developed have been cited by Edexcel and Ofsted as outstanding practice of engaging both students and industry.
As well as running a blog for my students I write pieces for The Times, Edudemic, Pedagoo, #ukfechat and the book ‘Don’t Change the Lightbulbs’ as well as providing training for my peers.
I was honoured to be shortlisted for the TES FE Awards for ‘Teacher of the Year 2015’ and have recently spoken at The Times Education Festival and other AoC events about my practice.
I also work as an Advisor for The Education Foundation and produce Documentaries for EdTech UK about innovative approaches to teaching and learning through the UK.
