Here's what people said about last year's conference.
“I'm still buzzing 6 weeks after the first ever #UKFEchat event. Dedicated, committed further and adult education tutors gave their time for free, to assemble in London and make stuff happen.”
Lou Mycroft, Teacher educator, The Northern College
“To get the future right, we need a great deal of debate and discussion among people who know the sector. I'm therefore absolutely delighted that the UKFEchat National Conference is taking place and hugely impressed by what the UKFEchat community has managed to achieve.”
Professor Alison Wolf, Baroness of Dulwich
“I don’t think I've ever been so inspired in such a short space of time in all my years of working in FE.”
Maria Wilkinson, Curriculum Director, Aylesbury College
“#UKFEchat provides "world class CPD". I've never felt better supported, more motivated or excited to be teaching in FE since I became involved.”
Nicky Hawkins, Lecturer, South Devon College
Hang on though... What is UKFEchat?
It's a community of enthusiastic professionals who're interested in the world of further education and skills, whether that's in colleges, in work based learning or in adult and community education. We share opinions, discuss ideas and issues that are important to us, our students and our places of work.
We get together on Twitter at 9pm every Thursday to discuss a specific topic and to learn from each other. Everyone is welcomed to the chat with open arms. To get involved just remember to put #UKFEchat somewhere in your tweet.
We also have real life get togethers and hold meetings with sector leaders to discuss FE matters.
This site is a place to download our 3 UKFEchat Guide Books (for free), to catch up on the Storify versions of previous Twitter chats, to see what exciting projects we've got in the pipeline, as well as to read and share your blogs.
We'd love you to get involved with our community. If you'd like to contribute a blog to be published on our site or if you have any questions about anything we do, please do drop us a line.
