Saturday 22nd October . Central London.  Super Early Bird Ticket £20

In every teaching and learning environment, big and small, there are practitioners, managers and leaders whose excellent reputation precedes them. They are local heroes. If you aspire to be brilliant at your job, then you too are a local hero and we want to celebrate you!

Share the good stuff during a fabulous day with like-minded FE and skills people, that will leave you feeling massively motivated, with big ideas to consider and  loads of practical tools to take back to your classroom, office, workshop, salon or studio.

Whether you want to get stuck in to real life UKFEchat discussions, attend sessions and workshops, or meet friends new and old, you will be welcomed with open arms into the UKFEchat community. We all want to be brilliant at what we do so let's learn from each other.

Local heroes and topics they'll be discussing... Many more to be added so keep checking back.

Last year's conference, our first one,  was a huge success. We asked how we could make it even better. The only note we got was that we packed too much into the day and didn't give you enough time to get together.

So we listened. This year there are still mountains of content but with breaks aplenty, giving you loads of time to gather your thoughts and your UKFEchat pals!

To put on a big ol' conference in central London costs significant wedge. That said, it's really important to us to keep our ticket prices as low as possible - £20 for a Super Early Bird ticket is a fraction of the ticket price of almost all other conferences.  We feel it's our responsibility to remove barriers to people getting involved with our community and being the best they can be at what they do.

Not one of the speakers, or our UKFEchat conference management pals are paid a penny, not even bus fare home. Their wonderful generosity supports our community to thrive. We love 'em and we can't thank them enough.

Hang on though... What is UKFEchat?

It's a community of enthusiastic professionals who're interested in the world of further education and skills, whether that's in colleges, in work based learning or in adult and community education. We share opinions, discuss ideas and issues that are important to us, our students and  our places of work.

We get together on Twitter at 9pm every Thursday to discuss a specific topic and to learn from each other. Everyone is welcomed to the chat with open arms. To get involved just remember to put #UKFEchat somewhere in your tweet.

This site is a place to download our 3 UKFEchat Guide Books (for free), to catch up on the Storify versions of previous Twitter chats, to see what exciting projects we've got in the pipeline, as well as to read and share your blogs.

We'd love  you to get involved with our community. If you'd like to contribute a blog to be published on our site or if you have any questions about anything we do, please do drop me a line. Email me at sarah@ukfechat.com or reach me on Twitter @MrsSarahSimons

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sarah Simons, Director of UKFEchat, FE lecturer, writer.
